According to Mike Silva, The NYM have signed 37 year old Tim Byrdak to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Over the past 4 years, Byrdak has been able to keep his ERA under 4.00. Although, walks have been an issue during his long MLB Career. If he makes the club out of spring training, I would expect him to be used in the role that Pedro Feliciano left vacant after signing a 2-year 8 million dollar contract earlier in the offseason.
Heres a video from YouTube about Tim:
This is another low cost/high reward signing by Sandy Alderson and Co.. I like these type of deals. Very smart.
